other existing online survival toolkits as well as creative strategies that cultural

Save America’s Treasures, Preserve America and

National Heritage Areas

Slated for Cuts in President's Budget

Save America's Treasures and Preserve America, two key programs for heritage tourism and historic preservation funding, are targeted for 100% elimination of funding and National Heritage Area funding is slated for a 50% cut in

President Obama's FY 2011 budget request.

What you can do:

  • Contact your Senators and Representatives and ask them to support restoration of funding to Save America's Treasures, Preserve America and National Heritage Areas.
  • Forward this message to at least five friends and colleagues asking them to send a message as well.
  • Share this information on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks.
  • Watch for Action Alerts: The time to act is now. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has launched an aggressive campaign to save this funding that now hangs in the balance. Over the coming weeks and months, we'll look to you for support in making that happen.
