The Leakey Foundation was formed to further research into human origins, behavior and survival. Recent priorities include research into the environments, archeology and human paleontology of the Miocene, Pliocene and Pleistocene; into the behavior, morphoogy and ecology of the great apes and other primates; and into the behavioral ecology of contemporary hunter gatherers. Other areas of study have been funded occasionally.
